→Nation:The Republic of Italy/Southern Italy
→Gender: Male
→Age: 20
→Applicable Age: 22
→Physical Description: Lovino can be considered handsome, if people like that sort of dark persona. He has dark brown hair and tanned skin due to his Arabic blood. He is tall, with a lanky and muscular build, even though he eats pasta, and tomatoes. His typical clothes consist of a maroon 3/4 sleeve button-down shirt, a black suit or khaki military uniform. Like North Italy, he has a strand of hair that curls up. It is his errogenous zone and is located in the middle of his hair. Also, like Feliciano Vargas, Lovino possesses a casual sailor suit in green (not blue like Italy's), but Lovino almost never wears it, because he believes that it makes him look disgusting.
→Distinguishing Features: One could say that Lovino's most distiguishing feature is the curl that is in the middle of his hair.
"We came into the world like brother and brother; And now let's go hand in hand, not one before another."
→Personality: Well, when one first meets Lovino...he is a bastard in his own heart. He insults people and is incredibly rude. However, as one gets to know him, he is revealed to be a sweet, misunderstood young man. Lovino gets jealous easily and he suffers from low self-esteem due to his brother simply being better than him. He appears tough and a formidable opponent, but he is very cowardly, altough Lovino will defend those he loves and holds close, to the death. He tends to let his mouth run, insulting and being impolite but that is just the way he is. He is very careful with who he lets into his world and into his heart, so he is very distrustful of most people around him. Lovino is also a rebel. He disobeys everyone: teachers, bosses, parents, family and occasionally his brother. He has been sent to detention several times because teachers hate his rudeness. he has also been expelled from several high-class schools and colleges due to his tongue, dressing style and poor grades. He suffers from low confidence, as well as low self-esteem and therefore, he cannot find the motivation in him to do something about his life, and his personality. He requires attention...no, he craves attention because when he doesnt get the attention he requires, he goes into a depression and will stay that way for days. He is also slightly insane because of the bad influence that surrounds him and influences his opinions. thoughts and words that come out of his mouth. He always speaks with profanities using "bastard" or "dammit" a lot. Lovino is friendly and kind to women, but is strict and less social to men. Despite appearing to be tougher than his younger brother, he is just as cowardly and ineffectual, if not more. He's stubborn and has actually been described as being quite timid. He is also a bit of a flirt and likes to hit on pretty girls.
→Likes: ~Tomatoes: He loves tomatoes, because they are so red...so juicy and so delicious. He eats tomatoes by the crate every single day. ~Siestas: Lovino loves to sleep. He loves to nap in the middle of the day, because it helps him think after. He will take a nap in the middle of work even. ~Music: He has learned to play the guitar and the piano through teachers. He loves all kinds of music but he likes music with a sick guitar. ~Good food: Lovino adores a home-cooked meal, because the way his mother makes the food...nothing can compare. However its rare and he is forced to cook himself, but he likes it. ~Being outside: He likes the outdoors, almost as much as he likes food. The sunshine gets him sleepy. ~Cats: He will never admit that he likes cats because they are soft and fluffy and so huggable and sometimes so alone.
→Dislikes: ~Spaniards: He thinks they are annoying, and loud. Stupid tomato bastards. ~Germans: Two words. Potato bastards. ~Foreign food: He hates eating foreign food because he doesnt know how he would react to the food. ~His brother getting picked over him: Lovino feels alone and sad when his brother is the one in the spotlight and adored. ~Not having his family around: For Lovino, his family is his lean-on. He can do excellent things when he is encouraged by his family.
→Fears: ~Abandonement: Lovino fears the day when he is left behind by everyone, with no one behind him. No friends, no family. ~Autophobia: He has a fear of being by himself. He gets depressed easily (due to the bad influence behind him), and if he is left alone, his personality darkens and he tries to do something about it like suicide.
→Aspirations: ~To be better at something than his brother: Lovino is useless. He cannot draw. He never gets good grades at school. Lovino just wants to be one day better than his younger brother at something. ~Get away from the bad influence that surrounds him: He is heavily influenced by the "friends" that he keeps around him. He wants to get away but it is really hard for him to do so.
→Lesser Known Facts: ~He likes looking at Flamenco dancers. Lovino gets jealous of the dresses and will always try to wear a Flamenco dress when he is out, watching Spanish dancing. ~Though he is not good with his hands, he is actually a very good pickpocket. ~He is not jealous of his brother, caring for him in so many ways. He just fears that his brother will leave him all alone one day. ~He does not believe in love. He thinks it is a waste of time and that he will never find the one. ~He is very smart. "Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. →Current History:
On May 17th, 1913, when WWI had not even started, Alice Vargas, a newlywed young woman, gave birth to a baby boy whom she named Lovino. Lovino, when he was born, was a happy baby, because all of his parents attention was on him. However when Lovino turned two, all had changed. WWI was going full blast and his father was on the front fighting along with the rest of the Italians. His mother, Alice, was pregnant again and he, ever the demanding baby boy, wanted all attention on him again. On May 17th, 1915, Lovino got a nice birthday gift, a baby brother. Now that there was two kids in the family, his mother struggled to make ends meet and as the war ended and economy in Italy improved, it was easier for people to find jobs.
However, in 1923, when Lovino was 10, there was another addition to the Vargas family. Sicily Vargas. Lovino tried to be the perfect older brother to both Nico and Sicily, but since he was always rude, it was hard for him. In 1927, the Vargas family took a trip across the ocean to Ellis Island,America and after that a train to Genova, a little town in Canada, because Luca Vargas believed that the change of scene will be good for the kids. Lovino, 14 at the time of the move, began having self-esteem, self-confidence, and depression issues, because his brother was the star child. He retreated deep into himself and his personality became cold and even more rude.
After they were settled in Genova, with a nice apartment that his father had bought, the Vargas family opened a little family-run Italian restaurant. Lovino and his brother went to middle school, but Lovino was promptly suspended on the second day. His parents then decided to wait and see whether the school would deal with Lovino. But they didn't. Lovino was constantly suspended until finally his father put his foot down and sent him to an academy for troubled kids in the nearby city. Lovino spent his high school years at the facility, and when he came home in 1931, he was different. His self esteem was at an all-time low and he swore all the time. His parents put him to work in the family restaurant, hoping that he would mature and stop swearing as much as he did. To this day, he still works at the family restaurant.

→Roleplay Sample:
The day was still early but Lovino was already in the kitchen of the restaurant, where he spent his days, cooking Italian food. It was only Five AM, so the restaurant was not open yet. He stirrred the pasta sauce deep in thought.
He thought aabout his life to date and how hard it was for his parents to open a restaurant here in Genova. He added some salt to the sauce and tasted it. It was good...but could use a little more oregano.
He looked around his station for some oregano, finding it in the cupboard. He opened it and put it into the sauce. "Lovi?" he heard and turned around. His little sister stood at the door of the kitchen, barefoot. "Sicily...what did Mother tell you about going around barfeoot?" he asked, picking her up. He turned the stove off and carried his little sister back to the apartment.
"I know..I'm not supposed to be barefoot otherwise I'll get sick, but Big brother...I had a nightmare." she said. He smiled slightly and set her in her bed. "Well, close your eyes and dream of ...kittens and candy. How about this: After I'm done for the day at the restaurant, I'll take you out for ice cream?" he suggested. Over the two years that he had been working at the restaurant, he noticed, he had grown up. Matured a lot.
Sicily nodded and closed her eyes, falling back to sleep. Lovino sat with his little sister for a little while and headed back to the restaurant to finish the pasta sauce. He still had a lot to cook before the restaurant opened. He turned the stove back on and added the oregano that he was planning to add. He stirred the sauce some more, getting lost in his thoughts again.
Resuming his thoughts, he sighed. He really had matured a lot but he still swore and still was cold to everyone else, but to his family, he was polite and respectful. It was what he needed. All he needed in life was his family. Everyone else could go to hell.
