→Nation: Scotland
→Gender: Male
→Age: 32
→Applicable Age: 28
→Physical Description: Artair has thick, short, dyed hair that just goes past his earlobe. Every so often, he would dye his faux hawk styled hair orange, especially after he regained his memory because in the past he has had either red hair or brown hair. He has thick eyebrows and a goatee (both of which he dyes as well), and very pale skin.
Artair’s body type is somewhere between the endomorph body type and the mesomorph body type (though he is slightly leaning closer to the mesomorph body type). Artair usually does labour work, and so that is why he is in shape. He looks out of place at times though, since he towers over people at 206 centimetres. Sometimes he cannot get jobs because he may look intimidating with two large scars on his face from the corners of his mouth dragging to his tragus, giving him Glasgow Grin. He is also missing half of his right thumb and part of his left ring finger due to accidents when he was a child.
He usually wears black slacks and a white dress shirt when he is out since that is his choice of ‘casual’ appearance of choice. If not a dress shirt, then he would be wearing some sort of sweater to keep himself warm. At times he may only wear pants though, because shirts may get in the way of odd jobs he may do.
→Distinguishing Features: Somehow Artair always manages to get two scars on his face—no matter in which life. Majority of his childhood he would not have them, but on his twenty-eighth birthday (the same time he remembers his past lives) there is always an event that triggers violence. By the end of the event, the Scotsman would always have two large scars that resemble a permanent smile. It doesn’t just happen with his male lives either; it happens when he is female as well.
“In my end is my beginning.”
→Personality: Artair is a surly, loud, foul mouthed, penny pinching, drunkard of a Scotsman. That is just him putting on a mask though. He has to be hard like that since he is the eldest of his siblings, and being the eldest meant that he had the most responsibility. With the most responsibility, he needs to entrust fear into his siblings, and so he acts that way.
In reality, he is a sweet man who cares about those he loves. If they need anything, he would deny it to them at first, but if they keep persisting, then he would bend his back and give in to what they wanted. Well, unless it involved money. In that situation, he would flat out refuse it to them, no matter what the situation is (well, unless they cried; if it came to that, then he would melt for them). Him being maudlin and sentimental doesn’t come out too often; it only comes out when his siblings start crying, or when he is drunk since people say that when one is in their drunken state, they reveal themself; but when it comes to people that he doesn’t care about, he would feel no remorse if he were to break their nose, or give them the Glasgow Grin. There would be two occasions where he would do it (that is more known anyways). They are: when he is personally attacked, or when his younger siblings are (though the latter gets more result from him than the former). Only he can bully his siblings, no one else.
Love and lust are two very different things to him. He hardly feels lust, though he does feel love often. Talking about romantic love makes him feel uncomfortable though (well, any kind of love is uncomfortable for him). To him, what one feels should be kept to oneself, and not be shared out to the world. Handholding and googly eyes are fine, but once it’s kissing and going further, he feels that it should be better kept from the world, than to share to. Call him an old man, but Artair strongly believes in that fact, and he refuses to budge about his feelings about it. He doesn’t care if it makes him ‘old fashioned’ or anything of that nature. That is his belief, and he will stand by it.
He is very hard working, never giving up at the hardest of times. When the going got tough, and things were hard for him, he would have to scramble and work at the lowest level of humanity. He would dip into almost anything just to keep himself afloat, and he will plan things through very carefully before starting on a task. He is also very loyal, and would never wrong anyone who was kind enough to him and helped him out.
That didn’t mean that he was reckless though. He has been known to act before thinking, and it has gotten him into plenty trouble. Artair is an intelligent man, yes, but he just lets his emotions control him. He can refrain himself on most subjects, though his anger has him on a tight leash; a very tight leash, but he is willing to forgive. It’s just that it takes a while since an old man can hold a grudge for a long time. Because of a few incidents in the past, he only sees the darkest of humans and can judge them very harshly based on a few exchanged words.
Artair is a fairly nostalgic man that yearns for the past quite often despite him disliking a lot of the past. He does not get depressive when he thinks about the ‘good old days’, but he sometimes gets angry about how the future has turned out. Most of the time, it is that he is angry at himself for taking the paths that he has chosen and always wondering what would happen if he had done something different. Granted, this only happens when he regains his memory.
→Likes: -Football (soccer): The game is his life. He would always play with the children when he could. He’s just not that good at it; though when he has to play against Arthur, he gives it his all. No matter how battered he may get, he refuses to let his little brother win. -Rugby: Second on the list compared to football. He doesn’t play the game as much, though he enjoys watching it, since he’s too old to get so close and physical. -Kilts: They’re not skirts, and they’re mighty comfortable. -Sweets: He denies his love for it quite often since he considers it ‘brat food’, but he loves it. He eats it on a daily basis, though only in small doses. -Rural Areas: It’s so serene and calm, and it gives him a place to hear himself think. -Whiskey: No better drink, to be honest.
→Dislikes: -Critics: Especially if they are critiquing his cooking. He is a Britain Brother after all, and his cooking isn’t the best, but he does try. -Skirts: The kilt is different than the skirt. If anyone calls the kilt a skirt, then he would have to pull his trusty dirk out and harm them. -Public Displays of Affection: He would prefer it if people shared their intimacy in the comfort of their own homes, and not where the world could see it. -The English: It really isn’t his fault; he grew up with that mentality—it gets better when he gets his memory is regained though. -Dancing: At times he can have two left feet, but there are small chances where he can dance decently; he doesn’t like to do it though.
→Fears: -Unrequited Love: He is afraid that he would love someone that doesn’t love him back, and so he pushes a lot of people away because of that. -The Curse of MacBeth: As strange as it can be, the man is afraid of a measly curse because of the things that he had heard the mishaps that has gone on when the name is said in the theatre vicinity. Whenever he hears someone say MacBeth near a theatre, he refuses to go into the theatre or be anywhere in the vicinity.
→Aspirations: -Artair wants to find out more about reincarnation and see if there is a way to reincarnate without having to remember about his past lives, or even pushing the age farther back since he does not wish to remember everything that has happened—he also wants to find out if there are certain things on his lifeline that he can avoid (like getting the scars in every life). -He wants to have his siblings of this life to have a good life and a stable job, so he works to the bone to let them have that. He may not see them often because of this, but he wants the best for his younger brothers and sisters, and he isn’t going to let him be their obstacle to a better life. At times, it may make him seem selfish or a jerk, but he does it out of love.
→Lesser Known Facts: -Accent: He speaks in a thick Highlander accent, though he can talk in a North Eastern English accent if he tries. It’s just that the Highlander accent is easier for him to speak in, and he doesn’t have to think as much as he would have to when speaking in a North Eastern English accent. -Vulgar: Let’s just say he will tell you exactly what he is doing when he is in the toilet, and he will not hold anything back. -Pirate’s Tongue: He knew how to swear before he knew how to count. -Stamina: He has enough energy for doing vigorous tasks for days on end without sleep, or very minimal sleep. Even if it is just a small task as a fun hike, he could go for hours without stopping for food and rest. -Fighting: He isn’t proud of this one, but he is a fairly good fighter. Give him a weapon and he will be able to pick up on how to use it fairly quickly. -Weakness to Tears: When he is around people who are crying, he would break down and fall to their whims. He cannot help it, since it brings up his motherly instincts of when he had to take care of his younger brothers in the past. He is a puppet to the crier if they see them crying. -Irritable: He may be kind to some, but if you rub him the wrong way he will hurt you (eg. He will shout, scream, yell, and punch you if you step in front of his line of sight for anything).
“I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection.”

→Past Family: (I’m not sure what to put here, so I assume I should edit when I talk to people about past relations?)
→Current History: 30 November 1901, a life had ended and mere moments later a new one began. The old was past and now the new living organism was birthed by Mary McKay as a healthy baby boy. Caelan and Mary couldn’t be happier with the child, because their first pregnancy was stillborn. He was slightly larger than most babes and livelier, so they called him ‘Artair’, meaning bear-like for his size and the energy he put forth.
As time went by, the McKays had more children because the parents hoped that their children would be their retirement. The family wasn’t very well off in the first place, and so when Artair was put work as soon as he was of age.
That meant that Artair lost his childhood when he turned four and was put in a factory, working with dangerous equipment. He had seen how some kids were sucked into the roaring machines and would never return again. He had learned from their mistakes, and he came out without any scars whatsoever. He had also learned from hearing around that there were other jobs besides working in factories.
He thought about it carefully to himself, and soon he started to drag his little brother out of the factory to go work on the streets as an errand boy and as a street sweeper. It wasn’t as well as working in the factories, but Artair knew that it was safer for him. He didn’t want anyone to lose a limb (aside from himself). When his little sisters were of age to work, World War One had already broken out. Caelan was (thankfully) not chosen to be conscripted to join the cause, so the man had told his wife to take the kids and emigrate from Scotland to Canada for he saw that the war was going to be disastrous.
At first Mary was reluctant, but after a year of hearing that the war was progressing for the worst, the family left for Canada in hopes for a safer environment. On the ship to Canada, Jasper almost fell overboard, but Artair had pulled him back to save him—slamming his thumb on one of the doors and breaking the nail in half. He lost plenty of blood for days, before someone helped him out by amputating part of the finger and patched it up.
Thankfully, the McKays were Scottish; so they managed to get into the country with less hassle than others from different ethnicities when they arrived. They had located the family to the prairie province of Saskatchewan, and the family lived a quiet life.
There were problems going with the family. They couldn’t get stable jobs, and the family was shunned for the ‘men of the family’ didn’t go into war. By 1916, Caelan couldn’t handle the social pressure anymore and so he volunteered to join the cause.
When the telegram came a year later about him being missing and presumed dead, Artair knew that it he was the man of the family now. He was much too young to volunteer for the war, and so he did whatever he could to help the family out. He mostly tried to find work and get a second source of income since his mum had gone off to work in the factory.
All of the kids found jobs, but they kept rotating for nothing was ever stable. By the time war ended, Artair had grown into a fine, hardworking young man. He had heard about ‘stocks’ and it was how many people in the cities were making a lot of money from it. He looked to his mother and eventually persuaded her to loan him some money to play it.
As the stocks skyrocketed, he gained more profit. That was when everything crashed. 29 October 1929 was one of the darkest days for him. The stocks crashed, and the family was in ruins. They only had what Mary had saved. It wasn’t enough to keep the whole family afloat.
Feeling guilty for making the family suffer, Artair told his mum that he was going to make it up to her somehow. During the depression, he started ride the rails from city to city to find odd jobs to do. Whatever money he could find, he would use the bare minimum on himself and send the majority of it to his family.
He eventually settled in Geneva, and had been working at odd jobs in the city ever since.

“ I am not an Englishman, I was never an Englishman, and I don't ever want to be one. I am a Scotsman! I was a Scotsman and I will always be one.”
→Roleplay Sample: Waking up with an aching head was one thing, but waking up to another officer before an ally, well, that was just a cruel jest on him. Though he could remember what had happened the night before. Crap, that was just… Crap. He couldn’t put it into any other words than that. The humiliation he had to face, and for what? With the few shards of dignity lost and being hauled back to the station, he didn’t know what to say. What could he say? Well, he had ideas in his head on what he could say. He had two choices: tell the whole truth, get fired and live with the satisfaction of knowing that he had done a good deed, or speak complete horseshit and stay on the force. Options, options; decisions, decisions.
Fuck that; like he was going to get into shit for no reason. He only had the second option, and whoop-di-doo. “… Sae ye see, I dae naet knae how I gaet intae the mess, but it seems that the Eagles an’ the Vikings have ties with the restaurant.” He tried to ignore the pounding headache that was given to him by the Asian man from the restaurant. He had to listen to his commanding officer about how it as absurd that he was blaming the restaurant. God dammit, he had bloodstains on his clothing, what more do they need to believe his story about the Vikingerne’s insane head attempting homicide, and the Schwarzen Adler spending time there? Jesus, were they as blunt as a broken pencil and as blind as a mole!? They might as well be, if they were going to be complete IDIOTS and not listen to a word he had said.
What they made him do next made him want to rip his hair out and shoot them himself. “Fecking idiots… Dae naet knae how tae treat a veteran…” He grumbled to himself, drying off and dressing in the only vest that he had that actually looked well with his Prince Charlie jacket, he grumbled. How he hated the Prince Charlie jacket. It didn’t suit him, and he wasn’t comfortable in it; but it wasn’t his choice what was ‘formal’ attire. Shrugging it off, he continued with pinning his kilt into place and wore the kilt hose, attaching the garter flash in the right places and putting the sgian dubh on the right side of his hose, so only the pommel was visible. Adding the sporran to finish his attire, he exited his house after slipping into Ghillie Brogues (after tying the laces that is).
It didn’t take him long to get to the Culture Festival, that was for sure. He still couldn’t believe that he was going to be wearing his GOOD attire and spend the day at this thing. He’d rather be out patrolling, but nope. They just HAD to station him here. “Fit right in me arse…” He growled, walking around to try and be taken seriously. Again, it took all he had in him to not shoot anyone laughing or giggling at him for the reason of him wearing a kilt. “They dae naet knae how hard it is fer me tae naet try and hurt anyone…” He growled; though it wasn’t like he could hurt anyone. The only weapon he had for the day was the sgian dubh and his bagpipes; a joy.
